2002 Amiot Clos de la Roche

This is a grand cru Burgundy. I found it for $65 on winebid. Although this is a lot of money, burgundy at this level usually starts at $150. This delivers. It is a light ruby and is at first closed and somewhat thin. Then it forms into a fragrant, perfumed, aromatic delight. This is delicate and smooth, with precise candied cherry and crandberry, and sappy pine and a nice sense of harmony. This charming wine is growing on me, after being open more than an hour. It will age for 10 more years.
