2003 Wolffer Cabernet Franc

This was a gift from a friend. It is similar to a Loire cab frank with a saline, vegetal streak. It is a low alcohol (12.8% quoted on the bottle), acidic wine with a lot of character, but not enough fruit to support the acids. There's not enough finish to be compelling. It comes off as strange. It is drinkable, but at this price I am expecting more. Retail $28. It is the opposite of a big Australian Shiraz.
