2004 Mitolo G.A.M Shiraz

The Mitolo was part of a perfect, comforting winter meal. Tonight we had Halftime chili with grated cheddar cheese and scallions and this monster shiraz. I am impressed by this wine. It is full throttled, powerful, viscus (teeth staining), sweet, with an incredibly long finish. There are tons of nicely integrated stewed fruits, rare beef, summer flowers, with a sexy full bodied frame. It is quite long, smooth, concentrated and well put together. At this price point ($50) I am expecting a wine to continue to change and evolve. This beast is so strong, if anything, it has only lengthened its considerable brawn in the 3 hours it has been opened.
