2005 Donnhoff Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Spatlase
Written By: Michael Zimberg on Thursday, October 16, 2008
This will almost certainly put me on a German Riesling kick. We drank this delicious wine with amazingly flavorful Thai food at Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas. Certainly the best Thai we've tried in the US. The wine is light pale golden. The nose has a slight must in a grove of fresh citrus. Its got an outstanding mouth feel with fresh squeezed red grapefruit and white peaches. Perfect pairing with spicy food. This is decadent and bold. It was $65 on the list at Lotus, retail is $43.

Michael Zimberg has intuition when it comes to wine. Somehow, some way, he is able to spot the best deals and the best food and wine pairings. Mikey's wife, Jill, attributes it to a naturally well-defined sense of taste and smell, combined with a healthy dose of experience. Whatever it is, his reviews shouldn't be missed.
