2005 Grivot Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots

Yet another killer 2005 burgundy. This is serious, dark, and takes more than an hour to start to come out of its shell. Then it is just delicious, with a field of dripping, ripe black fruits, and warm, damp dirt. It has a massive, complex palate and a huge finish, with lots of tannins. I have only 1 more bottle in my cellar and will certainly buy more. This wine will easily age 20 years. If you are going to drink it, either decant, or open several hours prior to drinking. So charming and tasty. Just short of sublime. Retail $90.

Excellent choice here. I have had the pleasure of trying this bottle and really enjoyed it. Powerful, yes. But intriguingly so.

I have the 2004 sitting down in my cellar, quietly aging. I'm looking forward to the day I can crack that open. Maybe I'll try to invest in a 2005 bottle too.

You are meek pandaa. Get tough and ride out the storm with this whirlwind of taste.

I think I'm meek. Wines that have a strong tannin or alcoholic punch turn me off a little. I would definitely be the type to decant this wine for an hour or more.

Are you finding alot of these available in NY? Has the price changed since you first bought?Sounds like a wine not for the meek.
