2005 Siduri Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch Vineyard Clone 23
Written By: Michael Zimberg on Tuesday, April 22, 2008
Lightly colored, especially for a California pinot. Looks like a burgundy. It has compelling aromas of cherry juice, fresh mushrooms and mint. This is a persistent, unique, and intellectually challenging wine. There's a lot going on here, and the finish is quite long. I get mossy funk, sappy cherry, and wood bark. It is really coming together nicely after being opened 30 minutes. I'd suggest decanting. I am glad to have 2 more bottles, and will try aging a few more years. Retail $50.

Mike - where were you able to pick these up and when? I haven't been able to find this bottle in PA.

Michael Zimberg has intuition when it comes to wine. Somehow, some way, he is able to spot the best deals and the best food and wine pairings. Mikey's wife, Jill, attributes it to a naturally well-defined sense of taste and smell, combined with a healthy dose of experience. Whatever it is, his reviews shouldn't be missed.

My brother is on the Siduri mailing list. I think this was a part of a mailer a year ago. Looks like winebid has 2 bottles for this week's auction. I hope this helps!
