Excellent event and value! Here's the site. All are expensive (most over $100): 2002 Hanzell Pinot. Aggressive cherry, and quite masculine. Nice animal. Smooth and long. Well made. Grade: A-. 2005 Rochioli Little Hill. Dirty cherry nose. Clear and percise long and full this is great. Pure lovely clean fruit with charactor. Wine of the...read more

Q3 Auction Results Are Mixed
Written By: Kasey Carpenter on Thursday, October 9, 2008
How is the turbulent economic status of the U.S. affecting wine auctions?
So remember way back in August when I reported on the Q2 auction results and how Burgundy was leading the field? Well Burgundy, my beloved, has made a liar of me. 1977 Ridge Monte Bello Cabernet
Written By: Michael Zimberg on Thursday, October 9, 2008

The first few classes were all about knife skills, and we all tried so very hard to make the perfect julienne or brunoise or batonnet. The instructor would walk around and show us what we were doing wrong (my knife was always in an angle, so I couldn't...read more

2005 Claude Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin
Written By: Michael Zimberg on Wednesday, October 8, 2008
This is my first Claude Dugat experience, and I will go out (way out) of my way to have more. We opened this wine to celebrate our brand new apartment in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I am completely blown away - this is the best villages wine I've ever had. Utterly stunning depth, pure ripe cherries, moss, cool moist earth and a sensational, multi...read more
