These grapes are grown worldwide and used in producing red wines either as a varietal or in a blend. Shiraz and Syrah are actually the same grape Shiraz just refers to grapes of Australian origen.

Red Rhone Blend
For a wine to be labled a Red Rhone blend it must contain Mourvedre, Syrah, and Grenache grapes.

A note on blends
Sometimes I see wines listed as a red blend, white blend, Red Rhone, or Bordeaux. Other times they are listed as a varietal blend or two varietal names are listed. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?
