Schrader Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
Written By: Brian Freedman on Tuesday, March 4, 2008
Wine of the Week: March 3, 2008
This thoroughly modern Napa cabernet boasts a nose of plum, ripe black berries, licorice, black peppercorn, and just a hint of roasted green bell pepper. All that complexity, however, is whittled down to the essentials on the palate: Red berries take over, as well as a backbone of graphite that keeps it all together. This is one of those rare wines that's both fabulous on its own and likely to make a delicious pairing partner for any grilled meat you choose. This is a real Napa gem.

I've had the Schrader, and I certainly wouldn't call it 'boring.' It is true however that there have been more dynamic mid-palate's in the past. This one won't change your perspective on life.

Hmm, I wonder if you would call the palate of this wine unexciting?

Had the schrader, enjoyed it quite a bit. I thought a few years of cellaring may help bring the complexities to life.
