Rodenstock on the Run

This case of bottle fraud is heating up.

Unless you have been living under a rock in the wine world, you no doubt are familiar with the infamous Jefferson bottles that are the subject of a best-selling book by author Benjamin Wallace, not one, but two movies in development, and some real life courtroom drama that Hollywood only wishes it could produce. Well the saga continues. One...read more

Tasting at Punch, NYC

Many of the bottles were oxidized. Those that weren't showed a nice spectrum of white burgnudy. Then we had a few reds: 2005 Coche Dury Mersault. Insane. Buttered popcorn. Rocky, salty, peachy, honeydew, honey just incredible mouth feel. JulieAnne says smoke. Outrageously delicious. Lovely oak integration. Grade: A. 1999 Roulot Tesson. read more

It is not uncommon for hired hands on vineyards and wineries to work twelve-hour days, six days a week. The grapes must be stemmed, crushed and treated with...read more

And amazingly, they are not necessarily all expensive. Some great bargains...read more

Piedmont Wines | Prices, Types & Reviews

It is no overstatement to say that the wines of the Piedmont region are some of the best in the world, particularly Barolo and Barbaresco. These are red wines made from the Nebbiolo grape, arguably the king of all Italian grape varieties. These grapes, when grown and vinified in Piedmont, are made into full-bodied, explosively rich wines that...read more

1998 Roulot Meursault 1er Cru Charmes

I have excessively high hopes for this wine. Roulot, along with Coche Dury, has become the auction darling of the white burgundy scene. His wine prices have gone from sane to insane in the past 12 months. The highest end Roulot Meursault (Perrieres) sells for around $500 per bottle from a good vintage. Most of the villages wines are more than...read more
