Tokaji Wines | Prices, Types & Reviews

Real Tokaji is made in northeast Hungary in the Tokaj-Hegyalja region of the country. It is, like Sauternes, very much a product of grapes that have been affected, in the best years, by the fungus Botrytis Cinerea, also known as Noble Rot. The process for producing Tokaji is a complicated one, though suffice it to say that these wines, which are so beloved throughout the world, are quite more than worth the effort required by their production. The best of them can age for decades, though it is certainly possible to find Tokaji wines that can be drunk immediately. Either way, you’re in for a treat.
