This is a result of both the maturation of the American wine industry and the evolution of the American palate, which now more than ever demands high-quality wines at a fair price.

From the picture-perfect vineyards of California's Napa and Sonoma Valleys to the excellent wines of the Finger Lakes Region in New York to the shockingly good Viogniers of Virginia, the wines made in the United States are today every bit as good as the ones made in more legendary places like France and Italy. And with a land as expansive as the United States, the options for wine lovers are seemingly infinite. Indeed, these are heady times for connoisseurs of American wine.
