2002 Guigal Cote-Rôtie La Turque
Written By: Michael Zimberg on Fri, Mar 21st 2008
One of my favorites, Guigal makes 3 special, single vineyard cuvees sometimes called La La (La Mouline, La Landonne and La Turque). They are incredibly expensive, and when right, incredibly amazing, with dirty, funky aromas and a monstrous finish. 1985 La Mouline is one of my all-time favorite wines. This one has a very deep and lush nose. This one had loads of acids for a La La. It is awkward, wacky and disappointing. There's the tell-tale crushed pepper and flowers, but not working all together. Nice wine, but not the quality I expected. Retail $170.
