2004 Domaine Serene Pinot Noir Evanstad Reserve

Domaine Serene makes lovely Oregon pinot. This is an excellent, large scaled example. I smell funk and underbrush with wild blue and black berries. It has spicy, candied black cherries, forest floor, cola with smooth, structured tannins. This would be in good company with comparably priced Burgundies. It is delicious and long. It should continue to develop in the cellar for 5-10 years. Note the grade takes the price into account, where it gets compared against special occasion wine. Retail $50.
