Chilean Wines | Prices, Types & Reviews

The wines of Chile are some of the most highly respected in South America. Much of this is due to the general nature of Chilean wines, which are typically fruit-driven and food-friendly, but not as overwhelmingly alcoholic and oaky as some other New World wines. Producers like Concha y Toro have been exporting excellent wines for decades, but in recent years, the prevalence of high-quality Chilean wines from smaller, lesser-known producers has become commonplace, too. Chilean winemakers have found success with such beloved grape varieties as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay, though great Chilean wines are not limited to these. The adventurous and open-minded wine-lover will surely be rewarded by exploring the wonderful wines of Chile.
