The wines of the Rhône are some of the best values in French wines today. From the expensive, opulent reds of Chateauneuf-du-Pape to the delicious and inexpensive Côtes du Rhône, these wines are rich, earthy, and utterly drinkable. And because of the warm weather in this part of France, the wines tend to appeal to the American palate: They are wonderful on their own, and even better with food.
