French Wines | Prices, Types & Reviews

Wines have been made in France for thousands of years. Perhaps this is one of the reasons French wines are some of the most sought-after in the world: The French have practice, and with wine traditions that go back as far as theirs do, French winemakers have had plenty of time to discover what works best for them.


But French wines are, of course, about much more than history: The variety of soils and climates within France's borders is amazingly wide-ranging. As a result, warm-weather wines and cool-weather ones thrive equally well. But the true beauty of French wines is about all of these factors and then some: Call it je ne sais quoi, call it whatever you like. Either way, French wines are some of the best and most beloved in the world.
