Located in South Australia, McLaren Vale is a wine region of ever-increasing importance and visibility. Indeed, there seem to more wines bearing the McLaren Vale name on their labels now than ever before. And this is a very good thing. In a country that at times seems to be dominated by New World-style Shiraz, McLaren Vale is most noted among the wine cognoscenti for its Grenache-Shiraz blend in the classic Rhone style. And while it may not be easy to find wines that advertise that blend, they are worth seeking out, as they pleasures they deliver are quite unlike anything else in Australia.
