Sauvignon Blanc Wines | Prices, Types & Reviews

These days, it seems as if varietal wines produced from Sauvignon Blanc are some of the most beloved and popular in the world. Like many grape varieties, it is known by a number of names. Though whether the label on the bottle says Sancerre, Pouilly-Fuisse, or Fume Blanc, it is easily recognizable by its famously grassy, herbal aroma. If springtime could be bottled, Sauvignon Blanc is what it would smell like.


Sauvignon Blanc was, for a long time, known as one of the two grape varieties blended to produce the famous white wines of Bordeaux (the other grape variety is Semillon). And interestingly enough, it was recently discovered that Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc, one of the main grape varieties used in the production of the red wines of Bordeaux, are the parents of the most famous grape variety in the world, Cabernet Sauvignon. Whatever Sauvignon Blancs background is, however, one thing remains constant: The white wines made from this grape variety are reliably fantastic
