South American Wines | Prices, Types & Reviews

Most of South American wine country resides in Argentina and Chile. This could be the result of a number of factors, including unfavorable climates, non-indigenous wine-drinking cultures, and a simple lack of desire. However, there is a glimmer of hope in the wines of Uruguay, which have been showing well in recent years.
The problem is that there is no real marketing muscle behind them. But if the wine community of Uruguay manages to make their wines appealing to the international market, then wine lovers around the world may have a whole new world of wine from which to choose. But that is a long way off, and for now, Argentina and Chile remain the only true viable options.
