White wines are made in as wide a variety of styles as red wines. From the oaky, buttery Chardonnays of California and Australia to the steely, austere wines of Chablis (also, amazingly enough, made from Chardonnay), there is sure to be a white wine out there to please any palate. The trick to appreciating white wines, as it is with all wines, is a willingness to taste as much as you can.
As is the case with red wines, white wines can be made from either single grape varieties or blends of several. Some of the most famous white wines produced from a blend of grapes are from Bordeaux. These are made from Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, and they exhibit a depth of flavor and a richness of aroma that would please even the most dedicated lover of red wine. Some people claim to not like white wines, but we here at ClassicWines.com simply believe that they just haven't found one that appeals to them yet. Because with such a wide a variety of white wines being produced, there is sure to be one that you can fall in love with.
