Emilia-Romagna Wines | Prices, Types, & Reviews
Lovers of Italian food should be well-acquainted with Emilia Romagna, the region in north central Italy that is home to what is arguably some of the best food in the country-and, by extension, the world. Unfortunately, the wines produced here tend to play second fiddle to the food, and as a result, there is an abundance of wines that are excellent for accompanying a meal, but precious few that are good enough to play the starring role. Lambrusco and Trebbiano di Romagna are the two most well-known wines of the region, though Sangiovese di Romagna, Barbera, Malvasia, and Bonarda are also produced, this last one of which is experiencing somewhat of an upsurge of popularity these days.
