Greece Wines | Prices, Types, & Reviews
Greek wines are experiencing a renaissance of sorts. After a glorious ancient past renowned for its wine production, Greece has recently found itself a spot on the world wine stage again. And though its wines are not yet considered to be on the same level of quality and complexity as the great wine-producing regions of, say, France and Italy, they are, nonetheless, often quite pleasant. The wines of Greece are usually white and occasionally sweet. Most interesting is the white wine style known as Retsina, which, due to the presence of resins from a certain pine in the winemaking process, possesses a distinctively piney, pungent flavor.
