Believe it or not, there are wineries in each and every one of the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. This is surprising to most people, for when we think of American wine, we generally limit ourselves to California, New York State, Washington State, and Oregon. The truth, however, is that the wines produced in other parts of the country are actually quite good. Of course, no one believes that the wines of Utah, for example, will ever be able to compete with those from California, but wines are made there nonetheless.
