Topic: Food & Wine Pairing

The Wine Messenger
Pairing shellfish and white wine may seem like a no-brainer, but with the wide range of whites available today, it's more difficult than you might think. Fortunately, you can always look to a good, mineral-rich Sauvignon Blanc. It's a bit of a chameleon, growing austere and subtle with oysters and fruity and a bit fleshy with spicy shrimp. Check out this episode for more on this classic food and wine pairing.

I was at Bookbinders and we had a group of us getting 2 of "The Johnny." It is a HUGE raw bar appetizer with oysters, clams, mussels, shrimp, crab legs, lobster tail and my FAVORITE - oyster shooters! Very expensive but worth every penny if you are splitting it with a few people. Great food, good wine, but bring your checkbook.

Those Shrimp almost look as big as my hands! If your at Bookbinders dont forget the Snapper soup. Glad to see it reopened in philly.
