Topic: ClassicWines Showdown of Soave Wines from Italy

Italy, while not as famous for its quality white wines, produces a very nice Soave (pronounced Swah-Vey). Made from the garganega and trebbiano grapes, the soave wines we review today offer a nice alternative to what you would traditionally expect from Italy. Join us as we review the Allegrini 2006 and the Pieropan 2006 in our Classic Wines showdown.

always enjoy the showdowns. I wouldn't mind seeing some super showdowns sometimes where Brian tastes 4-5 wines. I know it would take longer...but it would be an enjoyable watch.

My experience with soave was more like the Allegrini. Not blown away by anything in particular. Decent balance and texture...just nothing to get excited about.

AHH, it's pronounced Swah-Vey. I've been saying So-ve.
