Abarbanel 2005 Pinot Noir
Description:
Winemakers Note: Abarbanel goes Sideways with our new Pinot Noir. Made from ripe grapes grown on the Mambourg slopes at Sigolsheim in Alsace, this Pinot Noir comes from 25 year-old-plus vines and is hand-harvested and Estate Bottled. This Pinot was fermented on its skins for 10 days with daily pumping over and an average of three releases during maceration. 100% stainless steel. Mevushal, O-U Certified. Value priced. Excellent with poultry, veal, light pastas, salads, red snapper, trout. Smooth berry fruit, easy finish.
Daniel Rogov 83 Points: Light, almost dilute cherry red in color but aromatic and with appealing berry, cherry fruits. Nothing complex here but pleasant enough for brunches or picnics. Drink now. Daniel Rogov Haretz and International Herald Tribune November 2006
