About
"About the Wine All of the fruit Girard used to make this wine comes from the small clone Petite Sirah, which is believed to deliver richer concentration and brighter flavors. Girard's vineyards are all in Calistoga, where the warmer climate and rich soils provide great depth of character to their Petite Sirah. WinemakingThe grapes were hand sorted and crushed to stainless fermentors. Pumpovers were done as gently as possible so as to avoid unnecessarily harsh tannin extraction. Pressed at dryness directly to barrel, the wine was bottled un-fined and unfiltered after 18 months in French and American oak barrels."
