The Blocks Road seeks to creatively show case what low yielding, fully ripened Clare Valley Cabernet can achieve. Kilikanoon has applied old world techniques of open fermentation and basket pressing to extract as much flavour and character from these two, forty year old Cabernet vineyards. Low yields and 24 months maturation in new and older small French oak casks has created and intensely flavoured and seamless wine, exhibiting blackcurrants, berries with added notes of dark chocolate and briary fruits. The classy French oak contributing to the wines complexity and palate persistence. An ageing potential of at least 12 - 15 years with careful cellaring. - kilikanoon.com
