Description:
A Gevrey-Chambertin is a firm wine, with a good deep colour, a bouquet of fruit and spice, especially liquorice, well defined fruit on the palate and a long, velvety finish. It is one of the more robust of red Burgundies, but not quite as meaty as Nuits-Saint-Georges. It begins to open up 3 years after the vintage and in good years will continue to improve past its first decade. It is perhaps at its best between 5 and 8 years of age.
