"Notes on the Skylark Pinot Blanc Orsi Vineyard Mendocino 2006 : WINEMAKER NOTES: This is our second vintage from Bernie Orsis vineyard outside of Hopland in Mendocino. Although 2006 was a cooler year than 2005, we picked this fruit nine days earlier. We continue to barrel ferment the Pinot Blanc in 60% Mueller stainless steel barrels and 40% neutral French oak. Lees agitation is done according to vintage to add dimension and texture to the midpalate. While we stirred lees minimally in 2006, our idea was the same: to shepherd this old vine fruit concentration into the bottle while preserving natural acidity. Enjoy the result! Classic pinot blanc aromatics of roasted lemon and Red Delicious apple, complimented by tangerine and lemon skin. Lees contact adds complexity to the juicy midpalate, leaving an impression of depth and concentration. With aeration, the ripe apple nuances emerge with candied lemon drop flavors, while natural acidity gives the wine focus and clarity on the expansive finish. 600 cases produced.SKYLARK PINOT BLANC ORSI VINEYARD MENDOCINO 2006"
